The Center presented a second free web seminar on March 21, 2006, called "Successful Strategies for Sustained School Improvement." This seminar included an interactive discussion with Kevin Brooks, principal of Dower Elementary School in Lakewood, Washington, and practitioners nationwide to learn how, working collaboratively with her staff, this principal: took staff and community through a comprehensive needs assessment, assisted with the design and implementation of a locally developed schoolwide model, implemented site-based management, actively engaged parents in the life of the school, and implemented a Comprehensive School Reform grant to increase student achievement.
